Mount range: the maker says to mount it up to 10 ft above the hitting area, measured to the bottom of the bracket. A higher ceiling needs a drop bracket, and the maker does not promise accuracy outside the range.
The calculator uses 11.64 ft as the depth minimum and 16 ft as the recommendation. That is the larger of the stated depth and the distance behind the ball plus the ball to screen distance plus 1.64 ft behind the screen. The ceiling bar rises to your height plus 36 inches, or 48 inches for a driver. See the methodology.
