The sizes

Width, height and depth in feet, as published by the maker or a retailer. A screen is the hitting surface only; a net or enclosure adds a frame. Depth is the frame, not the ball to screen distance.

Notes on the table

  • Carl's Place kit names list height first, then width, then depth, as one retailer shows them. The table reorders them.
  • The SIG10 enclosure frame comes from a customer install post, not from the maker, so treat it as low confidence.
  • The Net Return Pro Series 8 is listed at 8 ft tall by one retailer and 7 ft 6 in by another. The table shows 7.5 ft.
  • The Net Return Mini Pro and the 7.7 ft tall Carl's Place kits are too low for a full driver swing by most adults.
  • We found no sizes for Rain or Shine Golf, so it is not listed.

How an enclosure is checked against a room

An enclosure fits when its width is not more than the room width, its height is not more than the ceiling (less any mat), and its depth is not more than the room depth. This is our own rule. It does not leave room for the swing, so check the monitor result as well.

Leave space behind the screen too. One retailer recommends at least 50 cm (1.64 ft) between the screen and the wall, and a side margin of about 20 cm (0.66 ft) per side for its enclosures. Leave at least 50 cm (1.64 ft) between the impact screen and the wall, so the screen can absorb a ball without a hard stop. One retailer's guidance for its own enclosures.

Projector and screen width

Throw ratio is the throw distance divided by the image width. A ratio of 1.0 puts the projector about as far from the screen as the image is wide. For a 10.08 ft wide screen (the SIG10) at a ratio of 1.5, the projector sits about 15.1 ft away. We did not research golf-specific throw ratios or lens shift, so we give no projector recommendation.

Check an enclosure in your room

Pick one in the enclosure field of the calculator. For ceilings and depth, see the ceiling height guide and the monitor table.
